On the heels of the stunning success of Under the Dome (Number 1 bestseller, ten printings, more than 1 million in print), a new collection of four never-before-published stories from Stephen King
King of the long story: Stephen King specialises in a length of story that is not a novel but longer than a typical short story. Two previous collections in this model, Different Seasons and Four Past Midnight, were #1 bestsellers and exceptionally well reviewed. Each contained four stories, loosely linked to a theme: in Four Past Midnight, the theme of time; and in Different Seasons, the theme of a journey. The stories in Full Dark, No Stars are also thematically connected - in this case, to marriage. King's stories of this length have also proven immensely ripe for film adaptation. Different Seasons spawned three notable films: Stand By Me, Shawshank Redemption and Apt Pupil, and a story in Four Past Midnight became the television series The Langoliers.
Never-before published stories: Unlike the stories in Just After Sunset, which spanned three decades and all of which had been previously published, the four stories in Full Dark, No Stars are brand new.
The stories are titled: Big Driver; A Good Marriage; A Fair Extension; 1922.
